Best Places For Your Plants

Proper placement of plants can improve their beauty and is also necessary for the growth of other plants. Starting your landscaping with trees will take careful planning. Don’t plant trees too close to the house. You will need to consider how much space the tree will require and how much shade the tree will supply. If it is in the wrong place it could create a problem for a garden or the growing of flowers if it keeps sun from the needed areas.

Before planting trees or any type of plant that has a deep root system, you should check with your “Blue Stake Office.” A call to them will keep you from planting over buried or under overhead utilities, which may not affect the beauty of the items but it may cause you to lose the tree, bush or plant if utilities need to be dug up or if they obstruct overhead wires.

Flowers need to be planted according to the type of sun, shade and dampness that is needed for their growth and the enhancement of their beauty. Many very pretty plants are difficult to grow but with proper placement and soil conditions you can be successful. For instance, Rhododendrons are not the easiest plant to grow, but they really add to the color and pleasant appearance of your flower beds. The hot baking sun will have an adverse effect on this plant. The rhododendron needs early morning sun but requires protection from the hot sun later in the day.
