Autumn is a beautiful time of the year. The weather starts changing in autumn to a cooler temperature as the trees start shedding their golden leaves. Autumns colors are more orange, brown, and yellow hues.
One of the first reasons you would want to remove the leaves from your yard is landscaping. The appearance of your yard is more appealing once the leaves are removed. A blower vac is helpful in removing the leaves, but some people prefer to use a lawn rake to get the leaves out of their yard. Many children take on this task, as it can be fun to play a bit in them before bagging them up.
You can also make an all natural compost out of your leaves and lawn cuttings. Bag these up and use as a mulch around your plants next spring. Removing these leaves and lawn clippings will help you have a healthier lawn. You should remove leaves from your lawn because they will smother the grass by forming a layer that prevents sunlight and air from getting to the grass. Also, you may not realize that damp leaves can be a source for mold, which triggers allergic reactions in some individuals.
Leaves are also a fire hazard if left around your house and lawn. Insects and spiders love to hide in the leaves too. Keeping leaves out of your home drainage pipes will keep water from backing up and causing a problem for you. As you can see, there are many good reasons to remove leaves from your lawn. Not only will your lawn be healthier, but you will be healthier too.
