Spring, fall, and winter pass and then spring comes again. It is the most exciting season of the year to those who are green plant, flower, or vegetable buffs. It's time to get out the hoe, shovel, and gloves.
The pride one has in a beautiful garden is well deserved. The work that goes into creating a wondrous garden is unending, but well worth it. Long before the perfume of those flowers can be enjoyed or before those vegetables can be savored, there is preparation. A clean up must be done of the debris left from fall trees shedding their leaves, old dead plants from the previous summer, and of course the fallen branches. Then the earth must be tilled and fertilized. Now, it is time to draw a plan for the layout of the plants.
Planting a flower garden can be quite complicated, depending on the particular layout of the bed. Of course, the plants that will grow taller should be placed in the back or in a corner. Tapering the heights and widths of plants is very important in developing a beautiful flower garden. Another consideration is the size of the garden. A layout plan for a very small area or a very large one can be creative in either circumstance. Always remember, if your creation is for a very small area, you should not overpopulate. Plants will survive much better and present a much more enjoyable sight if each plant has plenty of room to breath. Tall, slender plants can be planted much more closely, but if the plant is squat and fat, then more room is required.
The naturally talented horticulturist can use their imagination and perform wonders with any type plant, be it the green, vegetable, or the flowering variety.
