Reasons to Remove the Leaves from the Yard in the Fall

Almost everyone has trees in their yard and the leaves usually fall off of them in the fall. Some people do not pick up the leaves that fall off the trees, but here are some reasons why you should clean them up.

One of the reasons is because your yard will look much better if the leaves are removed so people can see how beautiful it really is. You can also use these leaves for a natural compost instead of getting rid of them. Bag the leaves up, store them somewhere, and next spring lay them around your plants. Another good reason why you should pick up theses leaves is because they can block the sunlight from hitting the grass and it can cause spots to form. Also, wet leaves can cause mold and some people can get sick because of allergies. Leaves can be a fire problem, too. Spiders and nasty creatures can live in these leaves. Leaves can also get into your drainage pipes and cause problems for you and your family.

If you cannot pick up your leaves, the city will do it for you for free. If you leave leaves in your front yard, it can be very dangerous if they are wet because others can slip and hurt themselves. Until you can reach the city people to come and clear out your yard, make sure you keep the bike lanes and the streets clear of all leaves.
