When it comes to having the best lawn in the neighborhood, most people water their grass and mow it regularly. Why do some people have green grass while their neighbors have brown grass. What is the secret behind the greenness? First, it depends on what type of grass it is. If you are trying to keep your own yard green, the first thing you can do is clear it off. You want to make sure that nothing is on your lawn that will block the sunlight or water from being absorbed by the grass. You also want to make sure that all of your grass is able to absorb the fertilizer that you add to help your grass grow. If you have too many objects on your lawn, you could have splotchy green grass rather than a nice, solid green lawn. You also want to make sure that your lawn is free of weeds. There are certain sprays out there that are meant to kill weeds that are growing with your grass. Use that before you fertilize your grass so that your grass grows and not the weeds.
If you are in charge of keeping a golf course or football field green, it is important that the grass stays around 70 degrees with 70 percent exposure to sunlight. This grass is called Bermuda grass and needs to be watered frequently and mowed often. It achieves its full potential and greenness when it receives constant sunlight. The more sunlight, the better for the plant.
