Look, a Bloom

It doesn’t take much to improve the look of your yard. Find blooms which will artistically blend. Plant one bloom as a focal point so that the other plants are framing it. For successful plant growth, chose plants that are local to your area.

Find out the optimum growing conditions of your plants. What pH is the soil do they like best? Most plants like the soil to be 6.2 to 6.5. You can lower the pH in the soil with an organic fertilizer. Mulch is another organic fertilizer which will help plants grow. Do you have shade or light in your yard? Choose plants that thrive in the amount of light in your yard.

Most vegetables like six hours of sun. However, the sun can overheat the soil. To prevent this from happening, cover your soil with wood chips.

You don’t want to overcrowd one spot with plants. The plants need space to grow. Make sure there is enough room horizontally and vertically. Every plant is different. Vegetables need to be 12 inches apart and 12 inches deep. Other plants only need five inches of space between them . One solution to creating more space is not planting in rows.

Watering your plants is more complicated than it sounds. You can after all drown your plants, trees, and lawn. When you over water, the roots won’t be able to absorb all the water. Then your roots will rot. It’s a lot of work; however, a beautiful lawn and yard is worth it.
