If you are a home owner you probably know the importance of removing debris from your property. Not only is it unsightly but it can be very dangerous. If you have experienced a hurricane, ice storm or high winds you may have downed trees. These need to be removed for safety reasons as well as keeping your home neat and clean. If you are unable to clear these trees, call a professional. Check your home owners insurance policy, it may cover the removal.
If you have a creek on your land and it is being blocked by debris, no matter what kind, it needs to be cleared out or you may have major flooding issues. Debris that is kept wet all the time can cause disease and is a danger to any animals you may have. Branches can quickly dam up a creek, this type of debris can harbor snakes and other undesirables.
Fallen debris can be hazardous to humans if it is in the path of cars, bridle paths or bike trails. Children love to climb in trees, down or not, and if they fall and are injured you will be liable for the incident. The removal of fallen debris should be taken care of as soon as possible after it has happened. After a natural disaster it may be a while before you can get it removed so you must protect your property and your home and family until it is. It might be a good idea to put yellow "CAUTION" tape around the area and "NO TRESPASSING" signs also.
